Attics are not affective in energy saving when they have batts of fiberglass insulation like this! We can remove it correctly and quickly.

Insulation Removed
Step 1 is complete. The joists and drywall are exposed and you can see there is no plastic poly barrier between the bottom of the joist and the drywall. This is called a vapour barrier - the only way to retroactively add the new barrier in, is by using spray foam from inside the attic space.

Spray Foam Applied
Once the baffles and damming work is complete (ventilation from the soffits), we can spray foam. This is 2" thick closed-cell spray foam. Now we can blow in new cellulose.

Last Step
Cellulose is the final step. We aim to achieve about 17" of cellulose, which gives the space about an R60. Keep in mind, 2" of spray foam below is equaling roughly R14 on its own.
