Radon Gas Mitigation Photo Album: Radon Gas Mitigation - Port Lambton, ON
This homeowner tested their home for 149 days and discovered radon levels at 400 Bq/m³- well above Health Canada’s action guideline of 200 Bq/m³. To bring those levels down and protect the family’s long-term health, our team designed and installed a custom mitigation system.
We used a High Rise sealed sump cover, specially adapted to accommodate the home’s water-powered backup pump, ensuring both radon protection and reliable flood prevention. This airtight solution allows the mitigation system to pull radon from beneath the basement floor and vent it safely outside, lowering the homeowner’s exposure.
Another family in Southwestern Ontario is now breathing safer, cleaner air thanks to a professionally installed system from Advanced Basement Systems.
Sump Before
A radon system cannot function without an airtight lid. A water powered back-up takes up so much room, that a specialized lid has to be fitted to accommodate it.
High Rise Lid
The lid has an access door if you needed to get to the sump system. We custom drill and seal holes for electrical, discharge and water lines.
Radon System
The pipe penetrates into the concrete floor, this is where the air is being pulled from. The fan in the middle of the pipe is constantly drawing that air from under the floor up and outside. This is what solves the radon issues!
