Sump
This is an inactive sump, but it still need an airtight cover over it. The radon system's penetration point will be in this area.

Before Exhaust
The area we will exhaust the radon gas mitigation system.

Interior Work
The penetration point, plumbing, fan motor and lid on the inactive sump have been installed.

Exhaust
Our exhaust systems have a muffler on them, helping to reduce the noise to a whisper!

U-Tube Manometer Explained
The manometer measures the suction pressure (vacuum) created by the radon fan. This pressure indicates whether the fan is running properly and drawing air from beneath the slab. The liquid column inside the tube shows a difference in height between the two sides. The difference is measured in inches of water column (WC) - typically around 0.5" to 2" WC for most residential systems. When the fan is ON and working properly, the liquid levels will be uneven (one side higher than the other). When the fan is OFF or not working, the liquid levels will be even- meaning there's no suction.
