These Windsor, Ontario homeowners had enough with their leaky basement - They were tired of the damaged walls, floors, and musty smells. They wanted a clean, healthy, comfortable and DRY environment.
Our team waterproofed the leaking walls, installed a radiant wall barrier to help reflect the heat back into the space and updated their sump pump system. Now, even during the heaviest of rains, their basement will be nice and dry - and their entire home healthier!
Before
The home was showing the signs of bowing and shifting foundation walls. The stair step cracking occurs when the wall begins to bow but the reinforced corners are held in place. The reinforcement comes from the corner of the foundation wall providing an anchor to the bowing wall. Over time this condition could become worse requiring full foundation wall replacement.
After
Advanced Basement Systems installed a series of Geo Lock Channel Anchors fastened at the footing. The anchor plates are buried in the yard outside, about 12ft away from the foundation wall. They're attached to the channel with long threaded galvanized rods. This installation will halt further bowing and may straighten the existing wall over time.
Give Advanced Basement Systems a call if you see signs of wall cracking in your basement!
Problem: This old sump pump had a loose fitting lid, an old pump and was letting moisture, odours and bugs in! The plumbing needed to be fixed, also.
Solution: We installed one of our liners that comes with a lid that lets nearly no air up through it! It is a two-piece lid so that you may have easy access to the equipment inside. The red puck is water-alarm that has a 6" probe into the liner that will sound off an alarm if water touches it. The lid also has a one-way floor drain built in.

Problem: Evidence of sewer leakage under the slab. Plumbing poorly done and not to code
Solution: Replaced with ABS drainge piping - to code. Cleaned up area for a nice and simple finished plumbing job.

This is another attic that has fiberglass insulation in the joists. We know that this isn't an ideal product for the attic- not to mention mice love fiberglass insulation! After we removed the insulation, our team used closed-cell foam to seal top plate, wire and pipe penetrations to ensure minimal heat loss! Finally, we returned the following day to blow-in new 17" R60 cellulose insulation. We also added air sealing around the hatch access.
Great job Logan, Shane and Tyler in this home!
