Cleanout and installation of CleanSpace over two half days was exceptional. Kevin had dropcloths covering pathway from trapdoor, thru garage, to driveway, and with Jordan and Paul made a heavy job seem almost easy and clean.Jordan expertly finished the installation with Paul the 2nd halfday and explained clearly the details of the finished job. The SprayFoam insulation was installed almost without effort. Bert and Tim did an excellent job in explaining the details : area coverage, vent seals, airtight seal, etc. and after setting up the equipment completed the job with almost no effect of fresh air concerns. Great Job !

Waterproofing an Old Basement in St. Thomas, ON

Problem: This century-old home had the challenge of mixed foundation types as well as varying levels. The basement leaked even during moderate rainfall which caused excess humidity and all the problems associated with an excessively humid environment.

Solution: With our interior waterproofing process, we were able to successfully and permanently fix this leaky basement. We waterproofed the leaking walls, improved the drainage in the space and also installed a sump pump more than capable of helping to keep the basement dry.

Water Penetrating Through the Floor of a Basement Springfield, ON

Problem: This home has an unfinished basement that is used to house the laundry and mechanical components of the home; such as the hot water tank, electrical and the heating system. There was considerable evidence that water was penetrating from some of the exterior walls as well as up through the floor of the basement; causing cracks, water to pool on the floor and damage to the systems of the home.

Solution: Our team installed a perimeter drain on the leaky walls as well as a trench drain in the problem areas of the floor. We then finished off with some concrete work. Now these homeowners enjoy a clean, dry and safe basement as well as peace of mind knowing that the basement and home’s systems won’t suffer from any further water damage.

    What a transformation!

Solution:  We successfully installed a new TripleSafe™ Sump Pump System and pit liner. We moved the location of their sump pump, filled in the old pit, filled the floor cracks and improved their drainage system.

Waterproofing a Block Concrete Basement in Chatham, ON

Problem: This home had evidence of a leaky basement. Concrete is porous and over time, water can work its way in and cause damage.

Solution:  We installed a perimeter drain in the floor along the problem basement walls. We also installed the ThermalDry® Wall system. As moisture and water passes through concrete foundation walls, the ThermalDry® Wall systems serves as both a vapour barrier and as a way to redirect water leaking into the newly installed drainage system below.

Leaky and Cold Unfinished Basement in Comber, ON

Problem:  This older home in the country had visible signs of water damage in their unfinished basement on the concrete block walls. The basement was damp and very cold during the winter months.

Solution: We installed a perimeter drain along the problem walls to safely move the leaking water to the home’s sump pump system. While not all homeowners have a need to finish their basement, an unfinished basement can affect a home's energy efficiency and comfort. Our crew also installed a ThermalDry® Wall system. It protects your finished basement from moisture and water that naturally passes through concrete foundation walls. This product serves as both a vapour barrier and also as a way to redirect water leaking through the basement walls into the new perimeter drainage system.

This radiant barrier ensures that the heat stays in the home, improving energy efficiency and comfort.

Damp Crawl Space Fixed in Tecumseh ON

Problem:  This home had a crawl space that was damp and musty. This undesirable crawl space air makes its way throughout the entire house in what’s known as the Stack Effect. The moist environment caused the fiberglass insulation to become ineffectual and saturated with water. These homeowners also needed some help with debris removal.

Solution: We encapsulated the damp dirt floor with our heavy duty CleanSpace crawl space vapour barrier liner (strong enough to walk on and store items upon!). Our team also added mould and mildew proof SprayFoam Insulation (inorganic; therefore, mould and mildew resistant) to help the home be more energy efficient.

Waterproofing and a Sump Pump Upgrade in McGregor, ON

Problem:  These home owners were experiencing water penetrating into their unfinished basement. Their sump pump system was older, unreliable and contributing to an unhealthy level of humidity in the home.

Solution: Our team waterproofed the problematic walls, installed the ThermalDry® Wall system (which protects the basement from moisture and water as it passes through foundation walls – it serves as both a vapor barrier and as a way to redirect leaking water into the new drainage system). We completed the basement with the reliable and industry leading TripleSafe™ sump pump system.

This before and after is a great example of how all of our products work together for a dry basement. With regular maintenance, these home owners will never have basement water problems again!

Problem:  Although these home owners only used this part of their basement as cold storage, they were frustrated by the continual leaky walls and the resulting musty smell and damp feel. During the hot and humid summer months, their entire home smelled bad and felt damp.

    Solution: Our team:

    • Waterproofed the two leaky walls
    • Installed a perimeter floor drain to direct any penetrating water into the sump pump
    • Installed the ThermalDry® Wall system which serves as both a vapor barrier and a way to redirect water leaking into the new drainage system

Solution: Our Advanced Basement crawl space specialist installed a sump pump specifically designed for the unique needs of a crawl space. Problem: This home had a very tight crawl space with several problems. The plastic barrier was ineffectual at maintaining a proper humidity level in the crawl space. The home had sloping floors and gaps in walls and ceilings due to inadequately supported beams and joists. One of the main beams in the home was failing and needed replacement.

Solution:  Our crew installed a CleanSpace Liner to keep the moisture from penetrating into the home and applied Spray Foam Insulation to the headers area for improved home comfort and more efficient heating and cooling. We replaced the beam with a 3 ply beam and updated their supports with our heavy duty SmartJack.

Problem: This multi-level home had one area which was a dirt floor crawl space. As with any lower level, this means water can penetrate up from the ground and cause water damage and excessive moisture.

Solution:  Our team installed a Super Sump: a sump pump designed for crawl spaces to remove the water in the ground. Our team also installed a CleanSpace vapour barrier, encapsulating the area; to keep the moisture and humidity levels down in the crawl space.

A Superior Sump Pump installed in Essex County, ON

Problem:  These homeowners needed a sump pump upgrade! Their old pump:

    • Could not keep up during times of heavy rainfall.
    • Did not have a battery backup in case of a power outage.
    • Had an open pit: which allows dirt and debris to enter and potentially clog the pump.

Solution:  Our superior TripleSafe Sump Pump System is the perfect fit and fix for this home!

This system includes the following features and benefits:

    • Zoeller® hp Primary Pump - Reliable and powerful!
    • Zoeller® hp Secondary Pump - If the primary sump pump fails or is overwhelmed by extremely heavy waters, the secondary pump will turn on.
    • In the case of a tripped circuit, power outage, or sump failure, this system also includes an UltraSump® Battery Backup System.
    • WaterWatch Alarm: Sounds off to let you know if water has risen past the point where the pumps should have turned on.
    • Airtight Sump Lid: An airtight lid keeps odors and humidity out, while protecting your sump from debris from the basement floor. Rubber grommets around all pipes and wires help maintain the airtight lid and also help to keep all PVC pipes steady and quiet.
    • CleanPump Stands: These sump pump stands are installed to raise the pumps off of the bottom of the liner. Any silt or sediment that settles on the bottom of your sump pit will be kept away from your pump. These stands also allow for height adjustment of the pump if necessary.

A Reliable Sump Pump System in Tecumseh, ON

Problem:  An open sump pit, an older and singular sump pump equated to problems for this homeowner in Tecumseh.

Solution: A dependable sump pump is one of the most important components of a dry basement. Our Advanced Basement Systems team installed the superior TripleSafe Sump Pump Kit. The TripleSafe provides three levels of protection; for normal functioning, the TripleSafe™ has a powerful, cast-iron Zoeller® ⅓ horsepower sump pump set at the lowest level. For heavy volumes of water or in case of primary pump failure, a second, more powerful Zoeller® ½ hp pump set a bit higher in the liner will take over.

In case of a power outage, our UltraSump® battery backup sump pump, set at the highest level, will pump 11,500 gallons or more on a fully charged battery.

All housed in a sealed pump liner – to keep humidity down in the basement.

From Damp and Funky to Clean and Dry in Windsor, Ontario

    Problem:

It was immediately evident when our inspector entered this home that there was a serious water and humidity problem. The basement leaked for decades and the excessive water in the space increased the humidity level in the entire home, making it smell terrible. Even the items stored in the basement had a funky smell.

The bad odor is not just a smell… it’s actually mould and mildew allergens that the entire family was breathing in, even though they all avoided the basement!

    Solution:

We installed an interior waterproofing system which consists of an in-floor drain, which moves any leaking water into the sump pump. A radiant wall barrier provides an extra layer of protection against water intrusion and helps to keep the space comfortable as it reflects heat back into the basement.

Our waterproofing system helps to regulate the excessive humidity caused by water leaks and thereby reduces funky smells and allergens in homes.

A Permanent Solution for a Very Leaky Basement in Port Burwell, ON

Problem:  These homeowners had two walls that leaked nearly every time it rained. Because their basement was unfinished, and this area used just for storage, they never really paid too much attention to the wet basement.

However, over time the family was annoyed and embarrassed by the constant musty smell which was throughout their entire home. They also had to be careful not to leave any items of importance in this area, as they would be damaged by leaking water whenever it rained.

Solution: We were happy to provide this family with a permanent solution to their wet, musty basement! We installed a perimeter drain along the leaking walls which will direct any leaking water into their new, efficient and powerful sump pump system. We finished it off with ThermalDry® Basement Radiant Wall Barrier which not only keeps the basement warmer in the winter, it is inorganic (mould and mildew resistant) and helps direct water into the newly installed perimeter drain.
