The cottage had an unfinished and uninsulated crawl space which allows moisture, odours and cold air to penetrate the upper living levels. The HVAC system had to work harder to maintain a more comfortable living spaces above.

Encapsulating the crawl space will protect the cottage by controlling moisture, preventing mould, structural damage and deterring pests. Insulation will provide temperature control and reduce the energy required to heat/cool the space.
