This Windsor home had a cold and leaky basement for years causing an unpleasant musty smell, mould and a high level of humidity. The entire home was affected by the undesirable basement environment: high heating costs, foul smells and a constant concern about the next rainfall.
Our team:
- Waterproofed the leaking basement walls
- Installed a powerful sump pump
- Finished the space with ThermalDry® Basement Radiant Wall Barrier to help reflect heat (up to 97%) back into the basement.
Now the homeowners have a dry and healthy basement… and they never have to worry about leaks, damp smells or mould growth again! If you would like a permanent solution to your wet basement woes, please contact us to arrange for a free estimate: 1-226-779-0859
Problem: These home owners had an unfinished basement which during rainfall would leak. The walls were unappealing; looking old and damaged.
Solution: Our Advanced Basement Systems team waterproofed the two problem walls, then installed BrightWall® panels to give the basement a nice, clean and fresh look.
BrightWall® panels are made of a 100% waterproof rigid plastic paneling – perfect for unfinished basement walls. It's durable, washable, and will not support the growth of moud or rot. These panels also keep humidity and water vapor from passing through the foundation walls and into the basement. Any water seepage through the walls is directed into the drainage system.
What a difference!

Problem: Although these home owners only used this part of their basement as cold storage, they were frustrated by the continual leaky walls and the resulting musty smell and damp feel. During the hot and humid summer months, their entire home smelled bad and felt damp.
Solution: Our team:
Now, not only is their basement dry, their home is healthier as well!

Problem: There was plenty of evidence in this basement of water penetration. Aside from the appearance of mould and stains, the entire home smelled damp and musty. The high humidity caused some wood furniture to grow mould – a sure sign that it’s well past the time to fix the wet basement problem!
Solution: Our team waterproofed the leaky walls and improved the overall drainage in the basement. No more water entering. No more musty, damp smells and no more toxic mould!
Problem:
It was immediately evident when our inspector entered this home that there was a serious water and humidity problem. The basement leaked for decades and the excessive water in the space increased the humidity level in the entire home, making it smell terrible. Even the items stored in the basement had a funky smell.
The bad odor is not just a smell… it’s actually mould and mildew allergens that the entire family was breathing in, even though they all avoided the basement!
Solution:
We installed an interior waterproofing system which consists of an in-floor drain, which moves any leaking water into the sump pump. A radiant wall barrier provides an extra layer of protection against water intrusion and helps to keep the space comfortable as it reflects heat back into the basement.
Our waterproofing system helps to regulate the excessive humidity caused by water leaks and thereby reduces funky smells and allergens in homes.
