Problem: This crawl space needed new support columns, an encapsulation system and a new access. The floors were saggy and the crawl space itself was in awful condition.
Solution: Install new supports to hold up the floors in the home. Put a sump pump in to relieve hydrostatic pressure beneath the ground and install a Turtl (crawl space access- see Photo Gallery). We cleaned out all organic material and the old insulation and encapsulated with our 20mm Clean Space.

Before
The owners found a crack in the poured concrete basement wall, which is a common occurrence. It does not pose as a structural issue but often times will lead to water leaks into the basement, causing a wet floor.
After
Advanced Basement Systems installed their crack repair system called Flexispan. The system includes a urethane sealant in the crack, a drywell under the crack to drain the water and a polyurethane sealant on the wall to prevent water from leaking through. The entire system is flexible and will move with the wall as it moves over time during freeze / thaw cycles.
Problem: This home had a problem with flooding in the crawl space, creating wet, undesirable environment
Solution: An important element of a dry crawl space is a reliable sump pump system. Without one, a crawl space will still be vulnerable to groundwater, as well as unnoticed plumbing leaks. Our SmartSump system is designed for crawl spaces.

Problem: These homeowners were experiencing the negative affects of a damp, musty crawl space throughout their entire home.
Solution: We sealed the vents, updated their existing sump pump and encapsulated the entire crawl space. Our CleanSpace Liner stops moisture from passing through the dirt floor and porous concrete walls.
Now the homeowners are enjoying a healthier home!

A vapour barrier or an encapsulation system, is crucial in a dirt floor crawl space. Isolating the home from the earth is 1 step of 4 in fixing the issue! The barrier needs to be engineered to sit on dirt and not breakdown and become brittle.
