Problem: Even after replacing their sump pump system earlier in the year, this owner still experienced a large amount of water coming through their walls, especially after a heavy rain. 

Solution: We gave these homeowners a peace of mind and a dry space for them to come home to by installing our Ultra sump batter back up systems. We also installed ThermalDry wall and our perimeter drain in the floor along the problem basement wall.

Before

The home was built with concrete block foundation walls and a poured concrete floor. Signs show water seeping through the walls and along the base where the floor joins. This will increase moisture and humidity in the basement allowing mould to grow on any organic material.

After

Advanced Basement Systems installed the Waterguard Drainage System which includes Thermal Dry Wall covering and a sump system to move the water away from the home. The home was built with block walls, a poured concrete floor with a round sump pit. The pit included a pedestal sump pump and no lid to seal it. Over time the walls developed seepage as shown and the basement felt damp.

Advanced Basement Systems installed their Water Guard basement drainage with a vapour barrier to take care of the water vapour on the walls. The owner elected to use the existing sump pit with a new pump, sealed lid and battery back-up from us. The sump is now sealed as it should be, so the basement will have a chance to dry out!
